Volvo's racing partner Polstar create performance kits for your T5

Polstar racing have create a set of software performance upgrades for the 2008 and onwards C30, C70 and S40 models fitted with the already sporty T5 engine.

The software kit is covered under the original manufacturer’s warranty, and Volvo claims the power increases will not adversely affect overall fuel economy.

The kits increase BHP by 23 and torque is up by 29 lb-ft. The software upgrade, normally referred to as chipping, work by increasing airflow and spark advance. Upgrades like this come about by engines spending long hours on a Dyno recording and testing different settings to the software and are more about refinement then massive HP gains.

The performance upgrades will be available from November 14th 2011 at Volvo retailers and will cost around ?800. That works out at ?34 a BHP, not bad for a non invasive upgrade that?s supported by the manufacture.

We would like to see more upgrades like this from Volvo and Polstra and maybe some physical part upgrades akin to those available from the John Copper Works upgrades for the Mini.
