Volvo to race in the WTCC at Brands Hatch and Okayama

Volvo and their official Motorsports partners Polestar Racing, plane to test run their race ready C30 bio-ethanol car at Brands Hatch and Okayama.

“We are very happy Volvo Cars has made the decision to let us do Brands Hatch again and Okayama,? said Christian Dahl Managing Director at Polestar Racing

These two runs, with possibly more to follow, will test the Volvo?s C30 against the best the WTCC have to offer to check its competitiveness for a full season in 2011.

Alexander Murdzevski Schedvin, Motorsport Commercial Director at Volvo Cars said, “We see WTCC now addressing its major obstacle for growth with the new engine regulations. That is why we have given Polestar a green light to further evaluate competitiveness and challenged them to establish a financial and technical plan for WTCC for 2011, including a full FIA homologation of the current C30 car.”

Robert Dahlgren, who is currently leading in the Scandinavian and Swedish Touring Car Championships, will be racing for Volvo and Polestar in the Volvo C30 DRIVe.

Volvo Racing will keep you up-to-date on the results of the test runs. We look forward to a great season for Volvo in 2011.
